Each month, the moon starts again. I find it useful to mark the new moon as a time to start again myself. To let go of my internal to do list, nagging me about all I haven’t done. To review my priorities and reset my intentions toward those priorities.
This article I shared a few weeks back talks about the science of changing habits. Here are the highlights I gleaned:
- Kick-start a new habit by committing to a time specific plan
Make the commitment
Piggyback on other activities – like brushing your teeth
Reward yourself – make a grown up sticker chart – until feeling better becomes its own reward
Be kind to yourself – reset the intention every day
